Anther fella on a different board described a minor modification to the loading lever latch that solved the problem. My Walker is made by ASM and I found the latch piece did not have much spring to it like it should.I've looked around for a bit trying to find one of these, but I haven't had any luck so I'm gonna create my own. I'm gonna take my Traditions Kentucky and cut it down, recrown,etc. Then refit the nose cap, drill and tap the underside of the barrel for it. I got the kit as a percussion gun and when the flintlock bug bit, I ordered a Flintlock from Traditions for $90 removed the drum and put in a liner.Concrete nails are easily found at your local hardware store. This is a Numrich Arms Swivel Breech rifle in .45. Build by Hopkins and Allen in early 70s. I bought this rifle for a much grander project. I was planning to make wooden side panels for barrels and reset ramrod pipes. Stock had damage to toe, that I repaired, as well as a cracked buttplate. Had to take a much larger one and refit it.

I have had one for years in 54 caliber, which has a 1-65 twist barrel. Mine shoots a patched round ball OR a Hornady GP conical very accurately.When I first got my Walker 4-5 years ago I found the loading lever would drop pretty regularly under recoil. Anther fella on a different board described a minor modification to the loading lever latch that solved the problem. Nitric acid is technically aquafortis, for sure, but the solution folks use to stain rifles is saturated with iron. Make the 10% or up to 25% solution, add iron shavings or small nails, let it cook uncovered until it is done consuming iron. Filter through a coffee filter, etc, and use this to stain maple.The .36 will hold up better in a breeze and will give you about 25 yards more range. For squirrel hunting, I like the .32 for when the leaves are still on the trees and shots are usually inside of 35 yards.
